Our Story: From Transformation to Workforce Restoration

The Legacy of Adult & Teen Challenge

In 1958, a small-town pastor named David Wilkerson felt called to minister to troubled teenagers caught in gang violence and addiction in New York City. What began as street outreach soon became something much greater — a Christ-centered residential recovery program focused not merely on sobriety, but on total life transformation.

That ministry became Adult & Teen Challenge USA, now one of the largest faith-based recovery networks in the world. With hundreds of centers across the United States and internationally, Adult & Teen Challenge is built on a simple but powerful belief:

Lasting freedom comes through spiritual transformation, personal responsibility, and restored purpose.

Unlike short-term treatment models, Adult & Teen Challenge emphasizes long-term discipleship, character development, life skills, and work ethic training. Students don’t just overcome addiction — they rebuild their identity, their faith, and their future.

Adult & Teen Challenge in Oklahoma

In Oklahoma, this mission has been transforming lives for decades. Adult & Teen Challenge of Oklahoma operates multiple residential centers serving men, women, and teens across the state.

One of the first programs in Oklahoma was Sonrise Adult & Teen Challenge, founded in 1988 in Cache, Oklahoma. Since then, the ministry has expanded statewide, offering long-term, Christ-centered recovery to individuals facing addiction and other life-controlling struggles.

These programs focus on:

  • Spiritual growth and discipleship

  • Emotional healing

  • Character and integrity development

  • Structured routines and accountability

  • Practical life skills and work readiness

For 12–18 months, students are immersed in an environment designed to rebuild not only sobriety — but stability, discipline, and hope.

Where Our Staffing Services Began

As lives were transformed, a new challenge became clear:

What happens after graduation?

Graduates often leave the program spiritually renewed and emotionally restored — but many still face barriers to employment:

  • Gaps in work history

  • Limited job skills

  • A criminal background

  • Lack of confidence

  • Employers hesitant to take a chance

We saw the need for a bridge between recovery and sustainable employment.

That bridge became our staffing services.

From Recovery to Restoration

Our staffing services were born out of the same heart and mission as Adult & Teen Challenge — to see lives fully restored.

Because of our roots, we understand:

  • The discipline required to complete a long-term recovery program

  • The character growth that takes place behind the scenes

  • The resilience and determination it builds

  • The value these men and women bring to the workforce

We don’t simply place workers in jobs.
We connect transformed lives with meaningful opportunity.

A Mission-Aligned Workforce Model

Our staffing services operate on three foundational principles:

1. Transformation Matters

We believe people are more than their past. Recovery produces dependable, motivated, grateful workers.

2. Opportunity Changes Generations

Employment is not just income — it restores dignity, stability, and family legacy.

3. Partnership Builds Community

We work closely with employers who believe in second chances and value character as much as skill.

The Continuation of the Story

Adult & Teen Challenge restores hearts.
Our staffing services restore livelihoods.

Together, they form a complete pathway:

Addiction → Discipleship → Character → Employment → Stability → Legacy

What began in 1958 as one man’s obedience has grown into a movement of transformation. Today, we are honored to continue that mission — not only through recovery, but through workforce restoration and community impact.

This isn’t just staffing.

This is redemption in action.
